Here are links to some of the websites I visit quite often. I highly recommend them...

The following sites have been "Thib-approved"

Nashuatelegraph.com - This is the newspaper from my hometown (Nashua, NH). I also used to work there. It's a pretty good site, and it keeps me up to date with the homefront.

ESPN.com - A must for any sports fan.

Google.com - Forget Yahoo. This is the fastest search engine out there.

Snopes.com - We all get a lot of those emails that describe unbelievable things, such as "Microsoft will pay you $100 for every person you forwards this to!", and the like. Unfortunately, most of them are Urban Legends (or Urban Myths). Otherwise known as an email hoax. This site sheds light on several of them, and exposes alot of them as truthful or just plain BS (Barbara Streisand). Be sure to check out the Photo Gallery.

Boston.com - The official site of the Boston Globe. I mostly visit it just to keep up with my favorite sports teams. From here, you can also link to the homepages of the Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots, Celtics, and Revolution.

Bostonherald.com - (See Boston.com, except it's the Boston Herald...you can never have enough coverage of the Boston sports scene.)

FPC.edu - The official website of my alma mater, Franklin Pierce College.

Soundamerica.com - If you're like me, a film and TV freak, you'll LOVE this site. It has quotes and theme songs from just about any movie or TV show you can think of. It also has cartoons, and yes, it even has all the Schoolhouse Rock songs. Check it out and explore - you'll be in for quite a stroll down memory lane, and you'll probably find a few more surprises on there too. You might need Real1 player to play the clips (they're in .wav format), but you can download it free. Trust me, it's worth it.

Soccernet.uk - The definitive website for the discerning football fan. You can also link to it from the espn.com website.

All About Beer - One of my favorite magazines, and an absolutely fantastic website. If you like beer - and I don't mean the watered down American swill such as Bud - then you need to check out this site. Or better yet, subscribe to the magazine! You'll be surprised at how interesting beer can be. And hopefully some of you will put down that ghetto silver bullet can and learn to appreciate beer the way it's supposed to be enjoyed...

The Onion - This is one of the funniest sites on the web. Also a famous book series. One of my all-time favorites!
VeniceRentals.com - This site belongs to our friends Denise and Maurizio, and it's a good site. They manage a bunch of rental properties around Venice, so if you're thinking about going there, you owe it to yourself to check out their site. Some of their places are fantastic. They have everything from couples to family rentals, long term and short term. and be sure to tell them that Rik and Virginia said hi!

Santaw.com - The homepage of Mark and Jane Santaw, a couple of good friends who used to live here in Vicenza. You can see pictures of them on the "Friends" link.

Bowlingfortruth.com - One of the most dishonest people of our time is Michael Moore - now, before you dismiss me as some kind of right-wing nut, let me assure you that I have no problem with political debates and criticisms. However, Moore's films are nothing more than dishonest film making. You may have seen Farenheit 911 and said, "Hmm, wow, that really makes me think...", but I'm telling you, you can't believe anything in this guy's "mock-umentaries". If you can take off your Bush-hating glasses for a short while and just read about some of the dishonest stuff he's done in his films, you may feel as duped as I was. Democrats will bash Bush no matter what the evidence, but to the objective person, the "real story" is eye-opening and will make you see through Moore's propagandist films. You will never look at his films the same again.
